African American ladies plz answer?

I recently had to get my hair CUT because it broke off soo bad. I know its probably because I flat iron and use curlers alot because I dont relax it often. What r the best heat protecters to use and what is the best way to keep hair straight in between using heat.

the best way it to make sure up wrap it up every night before you go to bed and also it wouldn't hurt if your just around the house and especially if your going to be doing something that may make you sweat! the proper way to wrap it is to brush your hair all the way around your head in a circular motion and tie a satin scarf around it. make sure all the hair stays tucked underneth. and STAY AWAY FROM THE FLAT IRONS AND CURLER!! LOL

Well im not African American but .. i have extremley fluffy/curly outta control hair.

I use redken products with heat protectants , go into your local hairdressers and ask them there opinion.

It's hard to determine what you should use when i can't see and feel your hair.

Matrix has several great products. The good thing is that they are light, and don't cause a lot of build up. Best Wishes !

There is a "Thermasmooth" collection by Mizani and it works great for protecting your hair from the direct heat of blow dryers and flat irons. I use it on my clients and they love how smooth and weightless their hair feels. The whole system is made for straightening the hair...it comes with a shampoo, conditioner, smoothing serum, and an anti frizz spray. And it smells sooooo good! But i would suggest that you try and get a good press followed by a flat iron weekly...that way you really wont have to do too much touching up at home putting even MORE heat on your hair. And just at nigh wrap your hair with a silk scarf and also sleep on a satin pillow case just in case your too lasy to wrap your hair or your scarf comes off during the night.

Well since my mom is a cosmetologist. I often do my hair in many different styles and when I need my hair repaired from all the damage I do to it she uses this grease after I get it relaxed called doo grow and ITS GREAT. I know your like BIH please.. But it works especially if you love to flat iron your hair b/c I do every 2 days and the grease is especially for the heat an its not to greasy.

I would suggest that you use either Redken heat protector or CHI silk infusion.

Both of these are great protectants and add shine as well. If your hair is breaking and you need tips on better hair care, I"d like to suggest these two sites on the net which can give all kinds of great info. Just last year I was in your same boat, fried hair in bad condition. These sites REALLY helped me out.

The only thing I can think of at the moment is get a perm and make sure you keep up with it.
