Dont use any... or if you must use a childrens formula, and please use a moisturizer because they can be extremely damaging to our hair! We have the dryest hair out of every race, and therefore our hair needs the most TLC, yet ironically, we are the most abusive to our hair! The best brand that I've come across for getting a perm is Africa's Best. It works really well, even you if you have really coarse hair.

Gurl use Motions. The yellow and purple bottle. Motions for sensitive Scalp. Works for me and my hair is like velcro if it's not permed. im never letting it get there again.Gurl that is the best!...or Dr. Miricle or Pcj kids perm. i used pcj asa kid and now im using Motions.

it all depends on the texture of your hair. i have what i call in between hair ( between nappy and happy). i can use kiddie perm and my hair will be straight. if i do use an "adult " perm i just pick one that is mild and for senitive scalps, otherwise i get sores in on my scalp. i find that i like both of the perms mentioned by Rachel H and Nessie. hope this helps.

I use Lusters Relaxer Kit. It keeps my hair straight longer than any home relaxer kits I ever use except for Revlon-Realistist Relaxer that was the best but I cant find it anymore.
