Does anybody else child's hair do this...?

My daughter is African American and her hair is straight and when I wash her hair and it is wet it is curly and then when it dries it is back straight. Why do her hair get curly when wet? Just curious Thanks

hey that is really odd but that just might because of her DNA well first do you have anybody in your family that has straight hair? because some things can skip generations!

My daughter is mixed black/white and her hair does that. Very curly when wet or sweaty and bone straight when dry. Seems strange to me as well!

I have 2 girls that are 1/2 African American. Their hair was the same way, as well as my nephew's. Many of my friends who are African American and have children, had the same thing going on with their hair. I heard that is is form the placenta, their hair still has traces of it, which make it silky like it is now. Eventually your daughter's hair will stay curly. It is very normal.

I don't know why, but my son's hair does this too! I am Latin and my husband is Black. I have very wavy hair and he has curly hair, but when my son's hair is dry it is STRAIGHT. I am thinking it may change as he gets older and stay curly.
