I have virgin hair (10) years. I add a henna rinse every three months or so.?

I am part african american, part indian and part white. I know. My hair get really straight when my beautian friend flat iron it. But when I wash my own hair, it curls up so tightly with water. And it holds so much heat, my hair could burn your hand. Not easy doing it myself. Would it be easier to braid it in sections? And what is the best heat protecting serum to use for flat ironing?.

After washing it try round-brushing your hair dry then going over it with a flat-iron. Round brushing leaves the hair semi-straight and by using a quality(this part is crucial) flat-iron, chi or ghds are best for virgin afro hair, it will straighten the rest. As far as heat protecting serum I honestly can not recomend one to you because I only use oils on my hair when flat-ironing. I really like coconut oil, it is not as heavy as olive but still moisturizes and leaves my hair really shiny. Ginseng wonder 8 oil (drugs stores, ethnic hair section) leaves my hair really soft and shiny but kind of heavy.

Virgin Hair means that your hair hasn't had any chemical treatments on it, dye or perm solution of anything else.

yes, braiding the hair first would be easier. I use cantu shea butter no drip oil.
