Identify origin of a wooden carving of an African American tribal woman?

the origin would be an african woodcarver who had been sold as a slave to an american. by the way, if she was brought to america, she would be an african, not an african-american, and most slaves were sold to white slave traders by Africans who captured them in battle.

Slaves are not the only ones who carve wood statues . I'd have to see a picture of the statue to know more.
