yea. and it helps to wear a swim cap or at least tie back your hair when you swim so the chlorine doesnt damage it.

if you continue to get in contact with that chemical, try to cap also use special chlorine removal shampoo/cond. could be found in most stores.

also, try cholesterol hair/scalp treatment (couple dollars at Sally's) to help some of the present damage.
